Celebration of Success

Throughout the second half of the year a number of Year 10 students have had great success in their respective sports on the international level. We would like to showcase the gifts and talents of these students and celebrate their amazing achievements.

Bella Stevens of 10M recently travelled to Dubai for the 2023 Junior World Series for Indoor Cricket, as a part of the 15/U Australian Girls’ Team. This is a wonderful achievement for Bella who had a very successful tournament. The U15 Team played in the U18 pool and ended up coming third, which was an amazing feat.

Levi Russo of 10S who has been jet setting all over the world for a wide range of events in Motorsport. In what was a very successful season for Levi, he has raced in a whole range of places from Phillip Island, to Indonesia, Spain and Qatar! A high point of his success was finishing up 6th in the world, at the recent Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup in Qatar! His tournament success has been so great, that as a result of his performance in recent races, has been selected again for the 2024 Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup where he will be representing Australia once again.

Riley Bentham of 10H was recently selected for the Australian Raptors Rugby Academy; a high performance academy for elite rugby players across Australia. Riley was amongst 34 players selected in the under 16 team, comprising some of Australia’s finest athletes and players. Riley and his Raptors Team departed Sydney on Thursday 30th November for a two-week rugby union tour, playing six games across San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego.

Zara Dunn of 10H was recently awarded a highly coveted Blues Award at the Wollongong Diocesan Sports Awards and has also just returned from Malaysia where she has been playing hockey for the Australian All Stars U17 Girls team in The Mirnawan Cup in Kuala Lumpur. The Team and Zara came home victorious with a Gold Medal after defeating Japan in the Grand Final.
