Learning Support
Magdalene Catholic College values the worth of each individual and promotes respect for the dignity of all people. We encourage all students to strive for their best and provide an inclusive educational environment where students’ strengths are harnessed to enable them to reach their potential. Magdalene is a community where every student is seen as an individual, and diversity is both the norm and celebrated. Our focus on justice and dignity ensures that all students have equal access to the many dimensions of school life.
To ensure all students are able to achieve academic success, Magdalene offers Special Provisions in line with NESA guidelines for eligible students for in-class assessment tasks, such as small group supervision, the use of a reader or writer, extra time and rest breaks. These adjustments ensure that students can access exams and other assessments equitably, reflecting our commitment to meeting diverse learning needs.
Inclusive practices at Magdalene Catholic College adhere to the Disability Standards for Education (2005), formulated under the Disability Discrimination Act (1992). These standards guide our approach to enrolment, participation, curriculum development and delivery, and student support services. Further embedded in our core Catholic values, these practices underscore our commitment to providing an accessible and supportive educational experience for all.
