The Library at Magdalene Catholic College was established in 2002. The aims of the Library are:

  • to facilitate access to resources to support the curricular and recreational needs of students and staff
  • to encourage independence in learning and help equip students with the skills necessary to be effective users and creators of information.
  • to foster a love of reading and literature.
  • to provide a welcoming environment for school activities, community celebration and the display of student efforts.

The Library is accessible at the following times:

Monday to Friday 7.30am - 3.30pm (closed Tuesday lunch)

Thursday 2.45pm – 4.30pm (Senior student study session)

The Library is a place where students can:

  • Read quietly
  • Conduct research for assignments
  • Complete classwork or homework
  • Use their computers for schoolwork
  • Work in small groups in a seminar room (senior students)

Library staff will work in partnership with class teachers to design learning experiences which support the development of information literacy.
