The Library at Magdalene Catholic College was established in 2002. The aims of the Library are:
- to facilitate access to resources to support the curricular and recreational needs of students and staff
- to encourage independence in learning and help equip students with the skills necessary to be effective users and creators of information.
- to foster a love of reading and literature.
- to provide a welcoming environment for school activities, community celebration and the display of student efforts.
The Library is accessible at the following times:
Monday to Friday 7.30am - 3.30pm (closed Tuesday lunch)
Thursday 2.45pm – 4.30pm (Senior student study session)
The Library is a place where students can:
- Read quietly
- Conduct research for assignments
- Complete classwork or homework
- Use their computers for schoolwork
- Work in small groups in a seminar room (senior students)
- Play chess
Library staff will work in partnership with class teachers to design learning experiences which support the development of information literacy.
