DIO Athletics Carnival
The recent Diocesan Athletics Carnival was a resounding success for Magdalene Catholic College, with an impressive contingent of 63 students representing our school. Our athletes demonstrated remarkable skill, determination, and sportsmanship, resulting in several outstanding performances and personal bests.
A highlight of the event was Max Liddell’s record-breaking performance in the 12 years boys Long Jump. Max's achievement not only earned him first place but also set a new benchmark for future competitors. In the 14 years girls category, Tahlia Tabone dominated the track, winning both the 100m and 200m races with incredible speed and agility.
Georgia Stone showcased her versatility and strength by securing victories in three events: the 15 years girls Shot Put, Javelin, and Discus. Her exceptional performance contributed significantly to the overall success of our team.
The relay teams also delivered stellar performances, with the Junior Girls Relay and Intermediate Boys Relay teams both finishing in first place. Their coordination and teamwork were truly commendable.
Special congratulations go to Riley Bentham, Lucas Bentham, and Anika Mumberson, who each claimed first place in their respective age championships. Harry Kourembes also excelled, finishing second overall in his age group, while Bronte Clark and Katie Peters secured third-place finishes in their age categories.
The collective efforts and achievements of our students led Magdalene Catholic College to be crowned the Diocesan Champion School. Congratulations to all our athletes for their hard work and exemplary representation of our school. We are incredibly proud of your accomplishments and look forward to even greater successes in the future.
