Changing States of Matter

In year seven we are learning about the particle model and the changing states of matter. Our experiment today showed changing states of matter in a simple and easy-to-understand way. We had a balloon attached to a conical flask and ice was inside the conical flask. We heated it until the water boiled and turned into water vapour. After this we let the equipment cool down. Once cooled, we ran the flask under cold water and the balloon deflated. This is because of the temperature changed the water vapour and it became water once again.
